This is a compilation of quotes by Dr. David Yeagley, musicologist, theologian and self-appointed pundit. The quotes are all authentic. Click on any one of them and the link behind it will lead you to the source.

Some will say that I have taken the quotes out of their context. I have indeed. Believe me, within their context most of them are even worse. I have, however, taken the opportunity of revelation by juxtaposition.

As a White European woman, who considers herself something like a conservative, I am appreciative of the causes of anti-anti-White racism and anti-feminism. But this incredible racist filth, cretinous, drooling misogyny and general hatred has nothing to do with my concern, even though we may here and there agree on a matter. Even a broken clock is right quite a day. When I denounce statements like (for example) "A boy threatened to sexually assault the girls with a broom stick? Surely such a remark cannot be considered seriously. It is the refulgence of adolescent passion, and braggadicio [sic!] in the midst of a stimulating situation" I am well aware of the fact that this was another blatant case of anti-White racism by the authorities and the media, but exposing the utter callousness of a creep who finds threatening to penetrate a woman (ANY women!) with a broom handle a "stimulating situation". And it is almost a truism that people who are talking about "sexual perversions" all the time usually have their mind on it all the time.

Just who is this Yeagley? He has a doctorate in musicology and a B.A. in divinity and runs the website badeagle.com. The website clocks up an average daily visitor count of 317 (SiteMeter data as of April 11, 2007). The Google link-count for the blog BadEagle Journal yields, while I am writing this (May 15, 2007), 119 hits. (For the record: My blog Roncesvalles clocks up 921 hits and I haven't a clue why.) Its Technorati authority is 34 the rank: 142,337 (Roncesvalles: authority 60, rank 76,419, which makes sense).* Talking about Technorati, it says probably more than a thousand quotes that this man seriously thinks that the search engine Technorati is deliberately set on "discrediting" him and that search ENGINES are "liberal". That said, his sheer stupidity, goofy conclusions, bumbling pomposity (seriously, if you are reading something about denouncing "…any manliness displayed by white American citizens, especially males" will you take the man who wrote that seriously?) and lack of erudition are mind boggling and specifically for a man who claims some sort of academic training, so I have added a "Howler" section.

For his pathological lack of empathy and basic decency I have added "Compassion", which is less fun.

Let the Indians deal with the Indian issues, just let me say that, for me, it is unfathomable how an Indian (and I am keeping out of the discussion whether he is Indian by blood or not) can apologise at best, idolise at worst, each and every enemy of his own people. Just one thing: At one point in time, Yeagley, who was brought up as White, choose to change his hairdo and dress-style to assimilate in looks to what he seems to perceive as Indian. Thus he is doing exactly what he is decrying in others: namely to utilise one's minority status to gain attention and — ultimately — profit. He says it best himself: Conservatives certainly like to feature non-white immigrants who espouse conservative values. This insulates conservatives from any undue charges of prejudice or redneck-ism, as the liberals are wont to accuse them of. Exactly. And that's why they feature the non-White Great Projector in spite of the festering hatred he oozes and in spite of his pathetic lack of talent. Immigrant status has nothing — but NOTHING — to do with it.

As so often, it is not the evil that is the problem, but those who let it happen. That so-called conservative Internet publishers with a reputation to lose (have they?) are gladly rubbing shoulders with a hate-filled punk like Yeagley is for me, as a conservative, unfathomable.

Just one more thing: Those who are nice about the trouble I'm taking here compiling this are complimenting me about very little. I get links sent and basically one can go to almost any page at Yeagley's forum or blog and find a howler, a sneer, a hate-filled statement. Try it.

"Negroes" and Slavery

There is a tremendous drive in many white women to experiment with the darkies.

Good grief. What a prospect. Is that all the black race is about, sexing non-black races? Say it isn't so. Is that all the black race stands for, sex? Say it isn't so?

Everyone is taught to think it is cruel NOT to be attracted to "blacks." This is political, and actually ridiculous, dangerous, and defies ever natural law of psychology in sexuality. We have aversions. It comes with having preferences.

White society is literally being forced to accept the "black" body as equally sexually desirable. Any natural, psychologically negative associations with darkness, any Freudian sexual aversion, and any sense of uncleanness, must be over come by studied, determined, political effort. America is being told what is sexually attractive. America's sexual emotions are being dictated, through the media and the legal system, no less.

These days the white woman is expected to humble herself before the darkie.

It's all about race, again. I have not heard the speech of Barak Hussein Obama about race. He hasn't given it yet. But I already know what he's going to say. He's going to 'equalize' all things. Everyone is basically black. And blacks are like everyone else--meaning they are white. Everyone is the same. Then he will shift over into defense. He will justify the black complaint.
It will only be another example of the psychological greed of the black race. They think they own race, and all things racial. They are the king of race. Barak Hussein Obama will do nothing but exalt the Negro, and equalize all other races into blackness. In one way or another, he will identify with any and all social complaints in the world, and picture the black race as the epitome of discontent, and will encourage every plainiff in the world to identify with the black race.

Goldhagen's Hitler's Willing Executioners (1996) as irrelevent [sic!], since testing an individual (by scientific experiement [sic!]) is not comparable to a social milieu such as was present in the German population.
Such a milieu may be present in the dark races.

Illegal Immigrants Must Die!

I wonder. The white race has no hero? There is no person that can be held up as one who cares about white people, without being called Adolf Hitler? In his defence, I will say that MSL [the "doyen" of the Stormfronters at BE] was not enthusiastic about being appointed moderator over the White Nations category, and its three forums, The White Race, The White Anglo-Saxon Protestant, and Anti-Semitism. I urged him to take the role, because I believed he was the right man for the job.

He may have over-stated some issues, calling attention to the problems the Christian institution has caused in the world. Many people have a notion that religion is a major problem causer, not solver, in the world.

Well, Roman Catholicism is foreign to all of western Europe, in that it is not "indigenous."

The protestant view is that Roman Catholicism intentionally included pagan symbols, rites, and rituals--in form, so as to communicate more effectively to pagans, so as to invite pagans, to make it easier for them to "convert."

Is Catholicism a pagan religion? The Church feels it can judge what's pagan and what isn't. It feels it can use just about any non-Christian ritual or custom that determines is useful in the practice of religion… Virtually every aspect of the Roman rite (and eastern) is borrowed directly from ancient, (pre-Christian), non-Jewish ritual. The philosophy behind that is clearly expressed in the Doc. of Vat. II.

The missions in England always were a problem to Rome. England was too far away. Off shore, so to speak. The age of the friars shows how badly it got out of hand. It is too simplistic to write anti-Semitism off as a hate scheme. It is a giant conspiracy theory. Hate may be a differentiating factor, but this is only because the Jews are human. There is no "hate" involved in the UFO theories, for instance.

My question is always going to be, What is the suggested "solution" to the Jewish "problem" by those who consider Jews inimical? I have found precious little suggestion that is essentially different from the Nazi approach. This is greatly disappointing to me, and shows real lack of creative thought, certainly lack of knowledge of the Bible, and also a lot of history.

Master of Selective Disrespect or Mephistopheles for the Lower Classes

Dr. David Yeagley is the man who can write four articles about Pamela Anderson in a row without using the word "tits" once.

Yes, that is scary.

Let me tell you more.

I was intrigued by BadEagle because I had read Yeagley's article "American Indians Aren’t Like Palestinians", which I liked until I twigged mich later that this man doesn't give a fig for Israel and just intended to affront American Indians and set them up against the Jews, as his entire purpose in live is to manipulate, hurt and affront people.

That was sometimes in summer 2003.

I then considered BadEagle a controversial, but interesting site with a number of interesting and well-informed posters, independent thinkers most of them.

It should have given me second thoughts right from the start that I, a White European woman who had never set foot on North American soil save for two holidays, was told by this cartoon character of a "host" that it was only fair that I had to suffer insults by some hyperventilating Indian woman (I paraphrase) because of the insults Indian women had to suffer (historically) by White women.

Clan (or rather "race"-) liability at its finest, but we will be delving into Nazi-think deeper at another point.

Yes, you are right, dear reader. I ought to have left just then. However, I didn't, and it is beside the point right now.

The point is not, either, that this utterly spineless man, who calls himself a "Conservative" and "American patriot", has no conviction whatsoever. Whether attributing fear to healthy outrage and repugnance, a totally "Liberal" concept, or whether he supports abortion, it is not so much the stance to which I object, but the utter hypocrisy. A person can NOT be "Conservative" or an "American patriot" yet NOT defend the beliefs, institutions and people that are dearest and closest to Conservatives and patriots, to paraphrase my friend Syler who used to post there for a brief while until she was fed up with the, as she put it, "anti-Catholic roadshow".

But calling oneself a "Conservative" and "Comanche patriot" guarantees at least a foot in the door to the Conservative brother- and sisterhood of writers, doesn't it? A brother- and sisterhood that either can't have read his stuff or is much more desperate for allies than I would ever have fathomed. Let your hair grow, remember the loathed Native American part of your ancestry and re-invent yourself as an "Indian Conservative and patriot" and lo and behold, all the people who would never have given your stuff a second glance are now buying that you are an original thinker. (Like I did, admittedly, at first as well.)

The point is not his racism either. I should pity him for that because I still haven't found out yet what side of himself he hates more, the White or the Indian one, but I rather save my pity for the mixed race children with whom he worked as a counsellor, because if he has transferred his own self-image to them, and I bet he has, they must now feel like the monsters and freaks of nature which they certainly aren't.

To me, his frequent quotation of his toil with those children does not, as it is probably intended, add to his saintly image but fills me with horror and disgust.

The point is not, either, that he is stylising himself as a "friend of the Jews" when he rather gets a kick out of every antisemitic slur. Why else would he have made a White Supremacist from the Stormfront community, as it happened, moderator of the "Anti-Semitism" forum? (Yes, I kid you not!) Or give them their own "White Nations" forum? Or why does he not just tolerate, but positively encourages a larger-than-life clinical psychopath to vent his antisemitic mental flatulences at BadEagle?

Neither is the point why he is so hot on "White Pride" if he understands himself as an American Indian to begin with.

The Stormfront scum has disappeared due to the valiant efforts of some posters. God knows Yeagley had nothing to do with it.

If "lust of their own hearts" and "vile affections" can be considered psychological terms, then Paul is identifying the disposition, as well as the behavior. He links the disposition to blasphemy and conscious godlessness.

Now, how this applies to Father Mychal Judge, I leave to others to ponder.

Ultimately, God is the judge of the heart. We are obligated only to identify behavior, for purposes of avoiding that which is not pleasing to the Lord, which is contrary to His purpose in Creation.

In the natural compassion we would feel for one who is suffering, we mustn't ignore the cause of the suffering. (I'm not entirely sure what that means, in practical terms, but, it has to be right!)

Like everybody else (well, come to think of it, maybe not like EVERYBODY else), I have my circle of friends who want to see me happy and amused. Thus, my attention was drawn once more again to the Waffling Warrior's weblog at ViolentHummingbird.

I promised once that I would put up something snide and revealing every time they are mentioning my name in vain over there. However it would be, too, a several-times-a-week-job. (Yes, we ARE flattered!)

But this is to funny (hilarious AND peculiar) to go unnoticed, really: In a particularly fatuous entry the illiterate retard who goes by the name of Leakerkin (Yeah! The one with allabasster skin and grean eyes...) in my hilariously funny travesty Master of Selective Disrespect or "Mephistopheles Decaf" accuses another poster of being me on the strength of ... tataa... DRUMROLL... criticism of his (Leaker's) spelling! (Come to think of it, if Yeagley was able to acquire a doctorate with HIS spelling, so maybe Leaker's spelling isn't too bad by American standards, after all...)

However, I took the opportunity for some self-flaggelation and looked up the latest blog-entries. What do we have there and what is the agenda?

Obviously, Waffles sees the need to establish the image of a ladies man. So there we have The Eyes of Diane, that's the thang that looks like an old man with a facelift who looks like an old woman with a facelift and would be, no doubt, an icon of the transvestite community over here. Then next Ode to an Empress, that's the widow of the son of a non-commissioned officer who, by some quirk of Middle Eastern history, made himself dictator of Iran and ...harruumph... Emperor (shades of Bokassa are looming, but I guess a "Negro" doesn't count), a woman whom this great American patriot addresses "Her Majesty".

What's next? The Call of Callas ("A woman in tears is a wonderful thing") and Irene Papas, great singer, stunning actress, but two more canditates for the "Transvestite Icon of the Millennium" award.

Then we have "our eastward tour of cultural femininity and romance" (I always think that anybody who uses a term as lower middleclass and repulsive as "romance" ought to be clobbered to death with a leather-bound first edition of the Encyclopaedia Britannica), which includes The Persian Woman, Hindu Women and The Women of China, all chock-full, of course, with racist clichés that leave one wondering wheter "hackneyed" or "vile" describes them best. The Mongolian Descendents [sic!] is a self-serving little effort to stress, once again, that he is really really really Indian.

The Jewish Woman, of course, is a special for David "I am not good enough to marry a Jewish girl" Yeagley and another invitation for all crazed antisemites for whom ViolentHummingbird caters.

Yeagley Reviews a Book on Diana Mosley He Hasn't Read

Waffles is an expert on EVERYTHING. But he ought to stick, like most old women ought to, beauty contests, fashion, and the magnetism of females of the more transgendered type, like Ann Coulter or Diane von Whatshernameburg.

This time, however, I will try to be constructive and not to bore my trusting readers unduly with things they know anyway. Thus, this is not so much about Waffles pathetic personality, but on his ignorance, which (are we amazed?) stands for buckets of interesting information. Here we have not just another one of those cases where he definitely didn't break his back by not bothering to read a book he has the audacity to "review", this time he can't have even read the blurb. Can one be kinder to one's back?

Of course, he couldn't resist drooling over something that panders to two of his fixation thingies at once, Hitler AND the English aristocracy. The former he not-so-secretly adores, the latter he openly hates, but in both cases he doesn't know why because he would have to open a book to back up his intestine activities with some knowledge.

As it is, it's just the usual skewed gut-feeling and bowel movement stuff, blissfully untroubled by the slightest whiff of information, which he sells as his "opinion":

Biography is a very faddish kind of literature. The fads come in waves-caused by the latest discoveries in psyhcology [sic!], political correctness, etc. They use the same famous people to write new biographies on, as well. Hitler is one of these people. First he was an occultist, then a Jew, then a homosexual, etc. Beethoven was a syphlitic [!], a Negro, etc. Most every famous man was a homosexual at this point. Whatever will outrage the public and sell the book.

Well, there's a new trend in Hitler biographies, but their not exactly about his life. They are about the lives of women who claimed special relations to him…:

Anne de Courcy, Diana Mosley: Mitford Beauty, British Fascist, Hitler's Angel (HarperCollins, 2003).

Of course, biographies of people close to the all time Great (or Bad) in history DO reveal more often than not a lot about those figures and their times, one just has to READ those biographies. And of course, too, Hitler's ties with the occult ARE important, historically, as is the fact that the entire Nazi movement and Hitler himself were heavily weighed down by the more violent strain of homosexual culture, but who cares if that doesn't meet with one's presumption that Hitler is a great guy whose blessedness just needs discovering by David "I wannabe the man who revealed The Führer's spiritual side" Yeagley.

By the way, we had a very similar discussion before at NaughtySparrow and then it was not about some "faddish" biographical effort written by a *shudder* woman, but about some sober, serious scientific effort, namely the book The Hidden Hitler by the German historian Lothar Machtan.

The discussion about such a book will necessarily have to go beyond the question whether Hitler was homosexual (very likely) or not and to raise the questions how far such a disposition may have influenced his politics and what a possible link between homosexuality and some of the most atrocious regimes of the 20th century might imply. Also, as Hitler's homosexuality in fact HAS BEEN discussed previously, and by such eminent historians as Joachim Fest and Alan Bullock to boot (but one has to read them to know that), the question why that did NOT, to quote Waffles, "outrage the public" is no doubt worth discussing.

But guess who fell over himself to cavalierly dismiss Machtan's concept without even granting it as much as the most superficial of consideration? Hint: Somebody who is otherwise sniffing homosexual immorality and machinations under every stone (or rather behind every Y-front). Oh yes, and he never reads a book.

But back to this particular book he hasn't read:

Diane [sic!] Mosely [sic!] was no friend of the Jews…

You don't say! So glad you clarified that. Of course, otherwise we might have thought that an avid follower of Hitler would have been EXPECTED to be a friend of the Jews!

But hey – what the hell! Any mentioning of the Jews, however far-fetched or misplaced, may be good for some slobbering over a nice antisemitic scrap!

…and, like her husband, believed in the Nazi ideology of fascism. Of course, she was from an upper class English family, historically established, and had intimate ties to German upper class.

Only Waffles is able to cram a fractional sentence as short as that with such a stunning amount of fallacies and disinformation:

First, as every student of political sciences will tell you, the Nazi ideology German style, of which Mosley was a follower, is inherently different from Fascism, but you'd have to read a book to know that. Mosley, incidentally, made it clear that he considered himself a Socialist and had been a member of the Labour Party at one stage of his flamboyant political career, as many Nazis came from the former political left. (Oh by the way… Did I mention that one has to read a book to know that?)

Whatever the "of course" implies, be it that only a girl from an English upper class family would do such a thing or that a member of such a family would naturally have international connections – it's rubbish. The first alternative is daft by self-explanation, the second one is bullshit because the lower echelons of aristocracy, both in Germany and England, had very little international connections. They were, basically, peasants with good table manners and extremely xenophobic to boot. This changes, again basically, only in aristocratic strata as elevated as royalty. If Diana had "intimate ties", they came from personal social contacts, not by means of family ties. Oh yes, and all true aristocratic families are "historically established". In fact, it is the definition of an aristocratic family being "historically established". But what the hell, anything to hide the lack of knowledge and the disinterest or inability to acquire some with empty words!

Next, "Diane's" husband, that "Mosely" guy, was not somebody who by chance happened to be the husband (or rather her lover in the early days) of a woman who revered Hitler, but high-flying and high-profile British "Leader" Sir Oswald Mosley. But one has to read a book to know that and who cares for details anyway.

And all that shocking amount of ignorance, half-truth, misapprehension and platitudes in just about 11 (eleven!) words, with the protagonist's name misspelt twice to boot. Top THAT!

Nazi 'concentration' camps were first established in 1933. Already, then, Jews, communists, Jehovah's Witnesses and Freemasons, gypsies and homosexuals were thither coerced into confinement.

Yes and – in the context of the de Courcy-book – so?

Oh and by the way, "thither" is a very faddish kind of word choice, to put it politely.

I have NOT read de Courcy's book (but then, I am not claiming to be able to review it) but however daft or however brilliant it may be, it MUST have mentioned that "Diane" came from what is considered one of the most eerily fascinating families of the 20th century. A family, which shaped its outstanding members even more mercilessly as families do anyway. Shouldn't somebody who allows himself a review (of sorts) granted that fact at least a mentioning? But anybody who expects that ViolentHummingbird might be a source for serious information and not just a showcase for a shallow chinwag's vanity ought to have his head examined anyway.

(As an aside, does that man not see how fucking RUDE the public display of his inability to spell is? "Syphlitic", "psyhcology"… I am asking myself does he think it is below him to use a spell checker or does he simply not know that there is such a thing or how to use it? Whatever, none of the options is appealing.)

Here I give you a tiny hint of the famous Mitford family and a fascinating bit of 20th century history:

The parents of the Mitford sisters, David Bertram Ogilvy Freeman-Mitford, 2nd Baron Redesdale and his wife Sydney Bowles, were described as handsome, eccentric, cold, the father even as cruel, and remote. The Mitford children (six girls and a boy) grew up in relatively moderate circumstances deep in rural Oxfordshire. The parents didn't believe in education for girls, specifically not in formal schools. Lady Redesdale run a chicken farm, the return of which was duly invested in her daughters' scant education. The children were brought up by a nanny who, as it happens so often in English upper-class families, provided the only stability and warmth. A string of hapless governesses was employed to convey what little knowledge the parents thought girls needed. Contact with other children was very limited because Lord and Lady Redesdale were of the opinion that this might overexcite the girls. According to Jessica Mitford, Lord Redesdale wouldn't receive any "outsiders" such as "Huns", "Frogs", Americans, Africans and any other "foreigners", which included other people's children, most friends of the girls and almost all young men. An exception was made for some (but by no means all) relatives and some choice red-faced and tweed-clad neighbours.

This cruel and eccentric environment was mirrored by the girls from an early age. Merciless bullying among them was rampant, an "art" at which specifically the oldest sister Nancy excelled, an early sign of her later famous whip-lash tongue.

The parents split up after more than 35 years of marriage over the crucial question whether Adolf Hitler would be welcome as a son-in-law and whether a German invasion was appreciated or not. Lord Redesdale was against, his wife all for it. Exasperated, he left her and moved to the tiny Scottish island of Inch Kenneth near Mull, about the only bit of estate that had remained in the family, and from where he returned only after the war.

Nancy (1904 – 1973), the first born, became a celebrated writer, biographer and novelist. No lesser co-brain than Evelyn Waugh called her "an agitator - agitatrix, agitateuse? - of genius".

Her best known novels are the autobiographical The Pursuit of Love (1945) and Love in a Cold Climate (1949). I specifically enjoyed The Blessing (1951), in which the devious child of a broken-down Anglo-French aristocratic marriage plots to prevent a reconciliation between his parents, which convincingly undermines the politically correct belief that children are little innocents who never recognise that their bread is sometimes more thickly buttered on the separation side. Nancy's famous line (I quote from memory): "I like children. Specifically when they cry, because then somebody comes and takes them away" fits this bill perfectly.

She edited the extremely witty and funny Noblesse Oblige (1956), a delightfully eccentric analysis of aristocracy, Englishness and language. Here, she famously helped to originate the famous 'U', or upper-class, and 'non-U' classification of linguistic usage and behaviour, all with a amusing tongue-in-cheek twist.

In private matters she was less successful. In 1933, after a long but doomed engagement to homosexual Scottish aristocrat Hamish St Clair-Erskine, whom, so she erroneously thought, she would be able to lead to and keep on the straight and narrow, she married The Hon. Peter Rodd, the youngest son of the 1st Baron Rennell. The marriage to the cold and self-centred Rodd was not a success. Nancy and Peter Rodd, then separated for many years, divorced in 1958. At the end of WWII, Nancy moved to Paris, partly to be near French soldier and politician Colonel Gaston Palewski (Charles de Gaulle's Chief of Staff), with whom she had had an affair in London during the war. The largely one-sided thing lasted fitfully and ended unhappy when Palewski married somebody else in 1969.

Nancy Mitford died of Leukaemia in 1973.

The second Mitford child was Pamela (1907 – 1994). She was the only one of the sisters to remain in comparative obscurity. A dedicated country- and horsewomen, docile Pamela married a man as unlikely as the research spectroscopist and Oxford professor Derek Jackson. Enormously rich in his own right (he was, for example, a co-owner of the rag The News of the World), he had, among other things, devised the concept of the tin foil strips, which, dropped over the bombing target, rendered the German air raid defences inoperative. However, he served not just behind the scenes but rose to Wing Commander in the rank of Lieutenant Colonel during the war.

Pamela's and Derek's mutual interest had been horses and dogs, which remained the case even after they divorced.

Next was the only boy, Thomas (1909 – 1945). Educated at Eton, Thomas died without issue. He was killed in the war in Burma through the bullet of a Japanese sniper. The title eventually went to Lord Redesdale's brother.

Diana (1910 – 2003) was the third daughter. The opinions whether she or Deborah was the most beautiful of the girls differ. Diana Mitford married Bryan Guinness, scion of the immensely rich aristocratic beer-dynasty and heir to the title of Lord Moyne, when she was 19. When she was 22, she took her two children, left her husband and "nailed (her) colours to the mast" of the heavily married (to Cynthia, daughter of the former Viceroy of India, Lord Curzon) British Fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley, 14 years her senior. Mosley never intended to leave his loyal and long-suffering wife and his idea of two "wives" shocked even the debauched social circles in which he and Diana were moving.

Sir Oswald's wife conveniently died in May 1933 and grief-stricken Oswald promptly embarked on an affair with his youngest sister-in-law. Diana went to Germany with her sister Unity. While there, they attended the first Nürnberg party rally and returned again for the second rally the next year. Unity introduced Diana to Hitler in March 1935. They were his guests at the 1935 rally and, in 1936, Hitler provided a Mercedes-Benz to chauffeur Diana to the Berlin Olympic Games.

She continued to be Mosley's public mistress despite his endless affairs with other women.

1935, Diana was divorced from Bryan Guinness, who had pleaded guilty and provided "evidence" of his "adultery", as a man of his class was bound to do. In 1936, Mosley and Diana were married in a clandestine civil ceremony in Berlin, with Hitler and Goebbels attending. They made the marriage publicly known only after their first child was born in 1938.

During WWII, she and Mosley were interned at London's Holloway Prison under, thanks to Winston Churchill, relatively comfortable circumstances, their two small children went to live with Diana's sister Pamela Jackson. 1943, after two years, they were both released on grounds of Sir Oswald's health and placed under house arrest until the end of the war. Diana remained married to Mosley and a dedicated Nazi until the end.

She wrote two books of memoirs, A Life of Contrasts (1977), and Loved Ones (1985), as well as a biography of the Duchess of Windsor, whom she had befriended when they were neighbours in post-war Paris where she and Mosley went to live.

Diana Mitford (The Honourable Lady Mosley) died at the age of 93 as one of the many elderly victims of the heat wave that struck Europe in summer 2003 and with which the French had been evidently unable to cope.

The next in line, Unity (1914 – 1948), is, to me, the least interesting, most one-dimensional of the sisters, although she was (and still is) the most notorious one. Plainly obnoxious and fairly dim, she always got her way by sheer disagreeableness and even managed to unnerve her battleaxe of a father by staring him down. Different from her sisters', her eccentricity and obstinacy was not the means to an end or to express creativity, but its own reward. She loved to hurt and to wind people up for hurting's and winding up's sake. It started with releasing her pet rat in ballrooms as a deb and ended with becoming the world's first "polit groupie" to one of the nastiest dictators in history.

At almost six foot, she was impressive at best, frightening at worst. (The accounts of her attractiveness differ considerably.) One of the girls who did the season with her described her as "cold because she'd never known love".

Unity's "season" had, somewhat predictably, ended without an engagement in sight and, bored, she did exactly what her parents had told her not to do, namely to see her ostracised sister Diana. There she met Oswald Mosley and fell for him and his cause hook, line and sinker. She now expressed the wish to learn German and her parents, delighted and relieved that the notoriously indolent and useless Unity had finally expressed interest in something, let her travel to Munich. That was in 1933 and the rest is history.

She pursued Hitler and followed him like a dog until he finally took notice of her. Hitler, ever the petty-bourgeois, adored the fact that a girl from an English upper-class family should fancy him and indulged her and her every whim, together with, but not limited to, the gift of a lovely flat in Munich (char included) out of which a Jewish family had been thrown. Hitler's entourage unanimously hated her, her insolence and airs and graces, and dreaded the thought of the influence she might employ. An interesting snippet of information is that she had to be told by an older woman friend that she was not to make fun of and be rude to Himmler's wife.

Living in Germany, mainly in Berlin and Munich, on and off from 1933 to the outbreak of WWII, she met everything from raised eyebrows to stern disapproval at home, but only finally burnt her bridges when she sided publicly with Julius Streicher. Asked by a German diplomat's wife why she was getting involved with people like Streicher and his ilk Unity replied: "They help me get what I want", which sums up nicely her attitude towards life and the humankind in general. Three epithets describe Unity best: Nasty, nasty and nasty.

Of course, it throws some light on Hitler's personality as well, that he, at such an early stage of his rise to power, risked to antagonise his entire entourage and even his closest allies for this – platonic – infatuation with a vile little adventuress.

When Britain declared war on Germany in September 1939 and all Britons were forced to leave the country, Unity, rid of her role, did the only plausible thing and attempted suicide. She shot herself in the head, but only suffered serious brain damage. She was returned to England, all German hospital bills paid for by Hitler, where doctors decided it was too dangerous to remove the bullet, and she eventually died at the age of 33 of meningitis caused by the swelling around the projectile.

The next sister, Jessica (1917 – 1996), eloped to Spain at the age of 19 with 18 year old Spanish Civil War veteran Esmond Romilly, her second cousin and a nephew of Winston Churchill. Educated at Wellington, Esmond was a journalist who wrote two autobiographies before he was 21 and had attracted media attention as Churchill's 'red nephew'. In Spain he worked as a reporter, along with his friend Philip Toynbee, Arnold Toynbee's son. He and Toynbee collaborated on a journalistic account of the Spanish Civil War. Later, Toynbee wrote Esmond's biography Friends Apart.

The spitting mad parents did everything, even involving the Royal Navy who sent a destroyer, to make still under age Jessica return to England and only her announcement that she was pregnant made them relent. The young couple was allowed to marry at the British Consulate in Bayonne, both heavily disapproving mothers in attendance.

Jessica never saw her father, who had cut all bonds and disowned her, again. He even refused on his deathbed (1958) to see her.

Lord Redesdale is said to have had one of his legendary earth-shattering tantrums when he learned of the existence of a new son-in-law who was a leftist and a Jew to boot. Later, she pursued an extremely successful career as an investigative writer. Carl Bernstein, who wrote the epilogue to Jessica's book The Gentle Art of Muckraking, conceded that her research skills were far above his. Her autobiography Hons and Rebels, which appeared 1960 (and which I haven't read) got much acclaim and throws light on her family and upbringing.

The youngest sister, Deborah (1920), married Lord Andrew Cavendish, second son of the 10th Duke of Devonshire, when they both were 21. At that time, Andrew was not expected to inherit the title. Because his older brother William (who was engaged to be married to Kathleen Kennedy, sister of JFK), was killed in combat in 1944, Andrew became Marquess of Hartington and 11th Duke of Devonshire after his father's death in 1950.

Deborah Duchess of Devonshire never visibly put a foot wrong. She was considered the most perfect one of all Duchesses of Devonshire. There had been ten before her.

She has been the public face of Chatsworth House, the Devonshire's seat in Derbyshire for many decades and remains so in her widowhood. She has written several books about Chatsworth and played a key role in the restoration of the house, the improvement of the garden, the development of commercial activities such as the Chatsworth Farm Shop (a business that employs a hundred people), and Chatsworth's other business operations. She has even been known to man the ticket office herself.

She became the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire in 2004 upon the death of her husband when her son inherited the title. Andrew and Deborah had been married for 63 years.

Deborah, consecutively The Honourable Deborah Freeman-Mitford, Lady Andrew Cavendish, Marchioness of Hartington, Duchess of Devonshire and Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, is the last surviving one of the famous Mitford sisters.

As all women, with the exception of Pamela, led very public lives, there are plenty of pictures around. To me, the most captivating ones are those of the old women, which clearly show how life had treated them – and they life!

There is, of course, plenty of information on the Mitfords in the Internet. For those with a deeper interest in the history of the 20th century from this particular angle, Nancy's and Jessica's autobiographical books are certainly worth reading, as are, I am sure, if one can stomach it, Diana's.

Utilising One's Visceral Activities or How To Become A Court Jester

With limited online-time, it's always worth to have a brief look at NaughtySparrow, because there will be invariably some material for a nice little rant. I went, I looked, and lo and behold, I was not disappointed.

The Waffling Warrior got his bottom kicked again.

Obviously, in America it's enough to declare oneself a "conservative" and – hey bingo! – you ARE one! Or better: You are CONSIDERED one. All you have to do further is to sell the activities of your intestines as your "opinion". Just every now and then even the most indulgent readership happens to gag over too rank a flatulence.

After the "Prussian Blue" gaffe, where Waffles didn't bother to read past the first page of the – yes! – MISS USA website in his unappetising zeal to save the White race

is another remarkable example) and was forced to eat dirt publicly, he's given us a new howler. (Of course, his concern is not entirely unfounded. Waffles obviously hadn't even twigged that the article to which he responded was a case against the CoE, and even though it appeared in the Scottish Forum of his website and the Scots there are known to be fiercely into Scottish independence, he was clearly unable to make that simple connection.

Of course, the fact that he does know crap about history wouldn't be so bad if he wouldn't pass judgement based on that very lack of knowledge all the time.

Nonetheless, from somebody with a higher degree in "divinity" I'd expect some sound knowledge at least of ecclesiastical history and the simple fact that Catholics, too, have been at the receiving end of persecution. Of course, the question remains how much knowledge of general history is needed to understand ecclesiastical history, but I won't go much into detail here. I will even grant that an experience like the Prussian Kulturkampf in 19th century Germany is too remote a topic for a theologian from Oklahoma. (I have a hunch one would have to read a book to know about that. The first page of the – yes! – MISS USA website doesn't suffice here.) However, not to be able to connect the grievances of the Catholic Church in Scotland with the English "Reformation" is a bit steep, as is to conveniently forget about another scourge of the Catholic Church, the French Revolution. (Yes, that was the one that had, compared with the Holocaust, the great disadvantage to be unfortunately not about race.)

Why all that? Because a topic – ANY topic – that involves one of his pet peeves (including, but by no means limited to, "Negroes", women, homosexuals or the Catholic Church), however marginally, makes him forget what little knowledge or manners he may have possessed and his drooling, visceral hatred of certain things, with which he is consumed like an old house by dry rot, takes over.

In some cases, he spills the beans and blurts (or rather farts) out that he finds it "stimulating" that a woman should be penetrated with a broom handle, in others he more subtly just forgets his history from elementary school. Whatever the situation requires.

Mind you, this is not so much about his habitual skewed gut-feeling and bowel movement stuff, blissfully untroubled by the slightest whiff of information, this is about his very own field of scientific study in which he holds a doctorate, and, when all is said and done, the question is not is he dumb or is he dumb, but what does all that tell us about American universities.

And then there's always Niccoli [sic!] Machiavelli's take on the Church. I was influenced a lot by him.

Yeah, right! And considering Waffle's capacity for information intake, "Niccoli" has a website with only one page, of which Waffle read half.

If an American university was able to let loose a dolt like that, PhD and all, methinks his friend Horowitz ought to change the direction of his crusade against certain conditions at American universities a tiny wee little bit. We shouldn't be talking politics at this stage, but simply qualifications.

It is not peculiar, at the international level, to have players from other countries playing on a "national" team other than their own. In an age of bewildering immigration, it is not uncommon to have sons of foreigners grow up in another country, and become citizens, or even to have been born in that same foreign country. This is understood.

However, there is something peculiar in this French situation. On a team roster of 23 players, 16 are non-Caucasian--15 Negro and 1 Hindu. Whether there are new going-ons in the world of beauty pageants (with which he is eerily fascinated) or Bill Clinton sneezes and a puppy dies, the valiant Waffler utilises it for discharging yet another bit of his unappetising racism.

This time it's a Jewish commemoration of survival which serves as a bowel-opener.

I would like to suggest another Jewish holiday: Yom Komah. The day of walls. Protective walls, not just walls (kirah). Walls of protection. This would commemorate the restoration of the walls around Jerusalem, around 444 BCE. (The second temple, after the return from Babylonian captivity, was finished in 515 BCE.) The Jewish nation was not fully ‘independent’ until the walls were finished.

I say, to, it’s more that physical walls of protection. There were walls of ethnic division. There were walls for preserving the race, the Jews themselves. From what? Intermarriage. More than one occasion, leaders (first Ezra, chs. 9,10, then Nehemiah ch.13) dramatically rebuked the population for intermarriage with non-believing, non-Jewish people that had come into Palestine since 722 BCE. These are particularly agonizing episodes of public condemnation of the people. The priest Ezra had actually commanded mass divorce! (Ezra 10:9-17)

Preliminary Note

Blogging is educational. I have found out that I am always learning a lot when I'm trashing people. After all, I try do do it with a modicum of knowledge.

I hope, too, that even those people who can not be bothered by my pet peeves and spats will find the information provided interesting and helpful. I recommend that they stop reading at the point indicated by me.

This is about military history:

What makes a Soldier?

I am a woman. I am glad that I am living an a civilised society, where women, children, the old and the sick are considered noncombatants. The armed forces of civilised societies defend democracy, they do not practice it, or at theast they shouldn't. Those who are attempting it, giving in to feminism and political correctness, are suffering from the consequences.

I am grateful to soldiers who do the fighting for me and put their lifes at stake and I have tried to get a faint idea of what it might mean to be a soldier. Courage? Obviously. Training? For sure and the more the more complex and "advanced" the warfare, the more. Intelligence? You bet – and the higher the echelons, the more.

So what did happen at the cradle of warfare, the modern mass warfare we know now?

Gerhard von Scharnhorst

Germans have a certain reputation for belligerence, which is not always looked upon favourably. Let me introduce you to a few thoughts of some German personae who made military history to maybe get some deeper insight into the matter.

One of the decisive steps towards modern warfare was the adoption of the general staff system. When Napoleon Bonaparte planned a move in the midst of a campaign, he had to confer with worn-out commanders who were at the same time in charge of troops in the field. The first to inderstand that the complexity of modern warfare rendered a good commander at the front a poor adviser at the headquarters was, notabene, Napoleon's old foe, the Prussian General Gerhard von Scharnhorst. To him goes the credit for establishing the first general staff and setting up a war academy to train its members. All armies have since adopted the general staff system.

Carl von Clausewitz

One of Scharnhorst's pupils was Carl Philipp Gottfried von Clausewitz, not just a soldier, but a military historian and theorist whose writings are still standard war school fodder all over the world -- and still do stir controversy.

Clausewitz introduced systematic philosophical contemplation into Western military thinking, with powerful implications not only for historical and analytical writing, but for practical policy, military instruction, and operational planning as well.

The probably most influential work on the philosophy and theory of war is his work On War. It combines observations on strategy with questions about human nature and the purpose of war. Clausewitz especially examined the teleology of war: whether war is a means to an end outside itself or whether it can be an end in itself. He came to the conclusion that that war is -- must be -- "politics by different means".

He strongly advocated the primacy of the professional soldier over the politician in all military matters. In one of his letters he wrote: "The goal and the right of the art of war towards politics is to prevent that the political side asks for things, which are against the nature of warfare, that they are using the tool wrongly because they don't understand its effects."

Hans Oster

The career soldier ought to be the most devoted pacifist because he knows war and hence the responsibility.

This quote by General Major Hans Oster (1887 – 1945) deserves some reflection.

Hans Oster served in the First World War as a General Staff officer and is later among those allowed to remain in service in the Reichswehr, which he leaves in 1932 for personal reasons. After 1933, Oster is recalled to active duty and serves as a Counter Intelligence officer in the Reichswehr. Promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1935 and colonel in 1939, he becomes head of the Central Department of the Counter Intelligence Office. Oster wants to overthrow the regime by assassinating Hitler as early as 1938. In 1940, he informs the Dutch military attaché in Berlin of the impending invasion of the Netherlands by German troops, knowledge that wasn't put to good use. Holland became famous (or is it notorious?) as the country that fell prey to Germany without firing a single shot.

1941, Oster was promoted to major general and appointed chief of staff of the Office for Foreign Affairs/Counter Intelligence of the Armed Forces High Command. 1943, Oster was forced to resign because of reasons that range, according to the online sources, from "helping Jews" to foreign-currency dealings or an affair with a colleague's wife. But whatever!

He then remains under Gestapo surveillance. After the hoped-for assassination of Hitler, he was earmarked to become presiding judge of the Reich Military Court .

Hans Oster was arrested the day after the hapless coup of July 20, 1944. On Hitler's orders, he was sentenced to death on April 8, 1945 by an SS court in Flossenbürg concentration camp, where he was murdered one day later.

Fabian von Schlabrendorff, one of the few major coordinators of anti-Nazi activities to survive the war, described him as "a man such as God meant men to be, lucid and serene in mind, imperturbable in danger".

Ludwig Beck

Of the memoranda of Generaloberst Ludwig Beck, this one has, for obvious reasons, become most famous:

All honest and serious German men in responsible national positions will have to see it as their mission and duty to use all possible means and methods to avert war with Czechoslovakia, regardless of the consequences. Such a war must inevitably lead to a world war that would mean the end of Germany.

The highest ranking officers of the Wehrmacht are most befitting and capable for this task since the Wehrmacht is the operational instrument of power for the national leadership in conducting a war.

At stake here are ultimate decisions for the survival of the nation. History will burden these leaders with a blood-debt if they do not act according to their professional and political knowledge and their conscience.

Their soldierly duty to obey has its limits when their knowledge, their conscience, and their responsibility forbid carrying out an order.

There is a lack of greatness and recognition of duty when at such a time a high-ranking soldier regards his duties and tasks only within the limited framework of his military assignments without awareness that his highest responsibility is to the nation as whole.

Extraordinary times require extraordinary actions!

Ludwig Beck (1880 – 1944), following his family's tradition begun his his army service in an artillery regiment in 1898. After World War I he became a member of the scrap Reichswehr and held various field- and staff assignments. While he saw, like many other career soldiers, the Nazis' rise to power first as an opportunity to reverse the consequences of the Versailles treaty, Hitler having his homosexual former buddies murdered in summer 1934 triggered off a change of mind in Beck.

As Army Chief of Staff from 1935, he saw his role as an independent adviser to the political leaders. With this view, however, he stood in sharp contrast to those officers who, from an early stage, did not just permit themselves to be used as Hitler's henchmen, but acted as willing executioners. In memoranda, lectures and studies Beck pointed out the risk of war and its consequences for Germany.

His attempts at rallying support among army commanders failed. Beck remained unswerving in his decision to resign not to be involved in Hitler's military dillettantism, which was driving the nation into war against Czechoslovakia. Beck remained unimpressed by Hitler's early political and military successes. He had long been aware that the war triggered by the attack on Poland in September 1939 would inevitably result in Germany's total destruction.

Apart from the possible external threat, he was deeply distraught about the moral rotting inside Germany. From the winter of 1939 on, Beck was the centre of the military resistance against the Nazis and the groups related to it. Beck had been designed to become head of state had the coup of July 20 succeeded. Had! After an unsuccessful suicide attempt Colonel General Beck was shot late in the evening of July 20, 1944.

Those just interested in a historical snippet of information ought to stop reading here. Those who have the nerve to stomach the look into some seriously deranged soul –- go on!

The Last Romantic War

Today is Pearl Harbor Day, December 7. We commemorate, not the attack on Pearl Harbor, but the victory of America over its enemies. Forget the lamentations. Remember the victory. Lamentation is a Leftist specialty. All are victims, in their mind. That's how that try to manipulate moral superiority. They want to "help" victims.

Forget victims! Remember the conquerors! Honor the conquerors! There is no honor in victimhood.

The brave and courageous Japanese attacked us. We smashed them like no people had ever been smashed in the history of the world. It was annihilation--with mercy, because we only bombed two cities, not all their cities. But our response was so deadly, the world hasn't had a problem with Japan ever since.

But, those were the days when there was a thing called war. That was when the enemy had honor and pride.

Today, there is no war. Muslims have no honor. Mass murderers disguise themselves as charitable human beings, with rights, no less! Every element of human trust and human relations they have desecrated. Professional liars and deluded deceivers like Jeff Sidiqqi (Pakistan-born "American" Muslim--I hate to associate the two words, for there is no association) epitomize the perfidy and odious character of the enemy. An enemy without honor is less than a dog. An animal has more pride than they.

Does he know that soldiers who saw combat, even when they remained physically unhurt, suffer? Suffer from insomnia and worse? And that they follow NEVERTHELESS, when they are called to arms again? They do exactly what Clausewitz denounced, namely separating war and politics, viewing military victory as an end in itself.

"Subordinating the political point of view to the military would be absurd," Clausewitz wrote in On War, "for it is policy that creates war. Policy is the guiding intelligence and war only the instrument, not vice versa."

Not so in the American military tradition, where the goal of war is military victory and military victory only, which forbids outside political deliberations to effect military action. At the start of the Korean War, General Douglas MacArthur challenged President Truman to expand the war into China, in spite of the potential outcome at a time when Europe was still largely without defence against Soviet-Russia.

As we all know, it didn't happen.

But then, we all know, too, that Truman was a commie.

America's strategic culture is hostile to untidy small "guerrilla" wars. Counterinsurgency demands restraint, stability in personnel affairs, foreign language skills, cross-cultural understanding, knowledge of history, well-judged force deployment and civil-military cooperation. None of these points are among the qualities regarding the American military approach. Americans view war not as a means to, but as a suspension of politics and think politics will somehow sort themselves out once victory has been achieved, which usually does not happen.

But to say so doesn't win one any merits as a "conservative pundit and patriot", does it? So it's better to send a few more young Americans patriotically to a senseless death than to break one's back by reading a book, and much easier to drool over the "pristine German warrior image" and the "honor" of genocidal scum, be it White and blue- or Yellow and slitty-eyed, be it that they had forgotten their best traditions or that they had to be bombed into submission to finally arrive in the 20th century, than to get a modicum of education.

"Honoring" genocidal scum must convey some sort of perverted pleasure -- for perverts, that is.

So far so bad. However, it doesn't end here. After I had posted the above article first, I solicited reactions to it, reactions by soldiers. Real soldiers, soldiers of whom I knew they had served their country, not braggards at online fora where every man has a ten-inch-dick and every women weighs not more that 50 kilo.

The following account is heartbreaking in its truthfulness and grim veracity:

I come from a Military family. From the 1300's our swords were always for hire in the continental wars and also at home. Two of my ancestors were out at Culloden although on opposite sides. From 1798 there has never been a generation that has not served in the military and often paying the supreme price. WWI was the watershed when the flower of Scotlands manhood served and died in the muddy morass that was Flanders.

My Grandfather lost five brothers, three of them within 20 mins in the first battle of the Somme. Of the five only one has a marked grave. In the second war my father lost two brothers and my mother lost her Brother in Hong Kong when he was bayonetted to death in a hospital bed on christmas day by the oh so 'honourable' Japanese. My father helped liberate Bergen Belsen concentration camp thus blowing apart your writers quaint notion that the German Nazi's were honourable. They were NOT! Nuremberg revealed their satanic evil to the gaze of the world.

There is no honour in war. Its two sets of frightened men trying to kill each other before the other side kills them. I have been on active service and the experiences will never leave me. As an officer it was my duty to keep my men alive and this was the most stressful duty of all. Each patrol could be ambushed and men whom you regarded as family could be killed or wounded. I am still haunted by the deaths of the men I killed in battle, their contorted faces in death are still as clear a photographs in my mind. What were they fighting for? Some politicians grandiose dreams? Yes just as British and American young men and women are dying in Iraq for American big business interests fronted by a delusional US President and his poodle lapdog Blair in the UK.

Each soldier that dies leaves a grieving Mother, heartbroken wives and children, a hurt that time cannot heal and that applies to both sides... Perhaps I am being negative in condemning war and the men who forment it but my experiences have shown me the utter futility of way and the wasteland it leaves behind.

And now come on, Yeagley! Gather your gang of fellow swivel chair-pooping Internet warriors and Holocaust deniers, whom you are calling "brother", and tell us that this man is a coward, a "commie" and a liar!
